Last Thursday Eddie's mom had a mild heart attack. She was admitted to the hospital and an arteriorgram was scheduled for the next day. The test showed that she has 4 blocked arteries. One is 100% blocked, one is 90%, one is 95% and the other one is 60%. The doctors said the only way to fix the blockages was to do open heart surgery. None of the doctor's could agree on how big a risk this is for a woman her age (86). They said it should be her decision, but there was concern that she might have a stroke while undergoing the operation. It is just a risk no matter what she decided to do.

She decided today to not have the surgery. Without it, she could pass on at any time if she has another heart attack or stroke. The doctors are not optimistic. They have arranged for Hospice to come to her house. She is being released from the hospital today and Eddie is taking her home.
